Good day! You asked me to provide a comment on your work. I hope you take whatever can help you become a better artist.

>Solid composition. It falls within a third in the Rule of Thirds and thus the eyes fall comfortable on the duo.
>A graceful line of action. You can trace a smooth curve from Clara's elbow up to her shoulder, then around to her hat feather. Good work!
>Colors and shading are good, if a bit too soft. Remember that certain regions were meant to have hard shadows; it helps develop the depth of the subject.

>Line weights are uneven. We go from thick lines to thin lines to not only create expression in a work, but also to indicate light direction. For example, Clara's left fingers are solidly drawn, but the lines on her beak and hat feather are uneven, if a little unsure of itself.
>Mortimer is oddly flat. While Clara had a lot of expression from the line weights, Mortimer's face seems entirely composed of thin lines. It makes him stand out, but in an unnatural manner.

>Buying a single issue from the professional comics can already give you a class on line weights that will aid you in inking. Pay attention to how they ink dark regions and clothing, furniture etc. (Or you can search the net or here on DA for free :) )
>As for shading, a single episode of any anime or cartoon can help with that :) It's all about observation :)

Comment for ProjectComment:

THe artwork is very nice, it is drawn in a typical cartoon style and as far as i can judge i think you draw the characters very well and set them in a fitting scene. The colouring is simple but fits the overall style.
The signature is placed well, especially important because it is so long. The only thing that i dislike is the background colour.
Of course pink is sweet and with the gradient it gives it a nice scent ,however with the pink feather and the violet hat i believe a blue or perhaps slightly orange/yellow tone would have been more fitting and would not make the feather melt with the background as much.

Overall a nice piece it looks like a good piece of fanart and i could imagine it being sold as print for cards or other similar occasions therefore well done with this one.
