Dr. Seuss' The Lorax' animated movie is doing so well at the box office, Universal wants to make a sequel! Would YOU see it?

tasteofcountry.com/taylor-swif…

Me I don't know.... I do like the movie but what would the sequel be about.

I did had some ideas, really crazy idea, But that is just my brain is over flowing right now.

But I really don't know about this it feels like a bad thing to do.

I say if a Seuss book have no sequel to it then don't make up one unless you can do it right...

I want to know if Oncey and Norma had a relationship I mean yeah unlike in the book you need to know how to pay the Onceler but how grandma Norma know unless she had a relationship whether its romantic is up to the team doing the sequel

Hm...a sequel? Well, I've definitely heard that one is in progress...or has at least been confirmed. I think it's called Collin or something, but I don't like the idea of it. If Dr Suess was still alive, and if he directed the sequel, then yes! The Lorax was his ingenious imagination, so he could of made a sequel!

Of course, maybe he never wanted a sequel. And maybe they shouldn't do it with the movie either. It's already had a confirmed ending that really doesn't need a sequel. Trees grow back, Once-ler and Lorax re-unite, Ted and Audrey love each-other, la, la, la...it's all happy. They don't really need one.

Having a sequel? I dunno, it might turn out okay if they did it right and with the utmost care... But I got a feeling it'd get too much captain planet-y, if you know what I mean.

NO, No way! leave it where it lies! don't touch it. Let the fans decide what will happen in the future or mixed past of the movie.

Hellloooo.....something called IMAGINATION for the fans?! y'know, it's something Dr. Seuss promotes. I-mag-i-nation.

Oy oy oy....

If they made a sequel it should be about how the trees grew back. Maybe in the sequel there'll be a bad guy who wants to cut down the trees just like the Once-Ler.

That plot sounds silly and kind of redundant but it might work.

wow what time a see this D:!
but I think Lorax 2 would be a good idea ... if it's more once-ler and lorax ... because that is what fans want ;D!(especially me!) if it's about ted and that girl ... wouldn't make sense (I mean they weren't in the original book! why would the new movie be about them?)

I don't know if they will or not.

How is this possible? Dr. Seuss only wrote 1 Lorax story!

How would that even work? The movie had a good ending and everything seemed to close off, all information was given. What could they possibly have to include now?
Unless they're going to 'reveal' things about a character's past, though that would be unneccessary. ^^;

yeah, The Lorax is getting mixed reviews, mostly on the "new plot not related to the book plot" (and the songs) so that's NOT a good sign to greenlight a sequel

I think Illumination Entertainment is thinking too highly of themselves, sequelizing their gold. first off, their The Lorax is a silver at best. second, nothing that originally had a sequel should get a sequel. third, The Lorax SHOUDN'T have a sequel! actually, the original (sad) open ending in the book would have been the best way to end the story, and I can strongly say this without seeing the end to this movie (yes, I know, I haven't seen the movie yet myself, I'm a monster, I'm worse than The Onceler ^^; )

I'll see Despicable Me 2, I love them minions and it looks like there's more work there for a sequel (but if they make Gru good I'm walking out). but The Lorax 2? yeah, they better red light that real quick.

Agreed.
I like how this movie is even with some flaws that now looking back at it, I found tolrable except that whole thing with Ted haveing a crush still bothered me.

But I don't want a Lorax 2. but they are fan who want it manly to be about The Once-ler's back story before the Lorax Did intrest me due to how he was in the film.

I know I haven't seen the movie, but according to the commercials I assumed there was a backstory of sorts, seeing as how the plot to The Lorax movie seemed to also have a phoned-in love-crush story with Ted and the teen girl (seriously? Ted's a kid, even I know that pairing is kinda odd) and a possibly enjoyable buddy comedy with The Onceler and The Lorax (my dad still laughs at that commercial with the "That's a woman??" line :XD: )

It two stories in one film one is Teds story and the other is Once-ler's story it works pretty good here. But why can't they have had Teb just be into trees rather then him doing it for a girl it would have been better.

I guess they wanted a reason why Ted cared, cause according to what little I know of the book and the Chuck Jones toon there wasn't much of a reason except curiosity, I'm guessing? but he was doing it for a girl? lame! yeah, if I was that chick I'd be all "yeah, thanks for the trees, but looking back you're kinda creepy to me now"

I think a sequel would be a great idea if they made it Once-ler before he met the Lorax
But other than that... no
Hollywood's primary interest is money, so chances are they will make one..

I think if they absolutly want to do a sequal they should make it a prequal. Like they should show onceler's life as a kid, and growing up and stuff. Like a back story..

.... just sayin

I wouldn't really mind a sequel, but seriously ... it's kinda stupid ._. I mean, if Dr. Seuss didn't make one, why should Hollywood? C'mon, this is all just because of the money from now on ... no sequel is needed, and they know it, but their minds are filled with this thought "HEY GUYS LET'S MAKE ANOTHER ONE AND GET MORE MONEY EVEN IF IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE" goooosh it's just annoying -.- But anyways, if they dare making one it'd better be a very good one!

The sequel should be about the Sneetches.

I say this because in the book about the Sneetches, a rather old looking man comes to them with this weird contraption that can add or get rid of stars. Maybe Once-ler had another idea for an invention and wanted to try it out on some new customers...

Thank you for posting this :thanks:
I'm both happy and angry at that news. Happy because we may see more Once-ler, angry because if there isn't a Seuss sequel a sequel shouldn't be made from scratch and may possibly make the first one look bad and the first movie may lose it's original message. They did such a good job on the first one though that I may have faith in the second one and see it. Even if the second is bad, I would still see it.

I would see it if it had heaps of Once-ler and still had a strong message

Lolwut. How could they possibly make a sequel to this? I mean, the ending wrapped itself up so nicely that there's not much room for a sequel outside of:

"LET'S WATCH SOME TREES GROW, YOU GUYS."

"OKAY."

THE END.

However, if this is true, let us hope that the magnitude of the collective facepalm from fans will destroy everything before it can happen. D:
